MusicAIRE – 1st Call

Important update (24/3/2022)

The deadline for the MusicAIRE call for proposals was extended to 25th April 2022, 13:00 CEST!

MusicAIRE (An Innovative Recovery for Europe) is a project, co-funded by the European Union under the “Preparatory Action – Music Moves Europe: Boosting European music diversity and talent” and managed by the consortium composed of INOVA+ and the European Music Council (EMC).

The 1st Call for proposals has been launched, with a deadline on 25th April (NEW DEADLINE) 2022 at 1 pm (CET – Brussels time). The grant can cover up to 90% of the eligible costs depending on the applied strand and projects will have a duration of 10 months. 18 projects are expected to be funded.

A second MusicAIRE open call will be launched after summer 2022.

What?

The aim of the projects should be to contribute to the green, digital and just & resilient recovery of the music sector and can include – but are not limited to – the following types of activities:

• capacity building actions (education, training, mentoring, events)
• advocacy-related activities
• testing and scaling-up innovative models and/or tools
• awareness-raising actions
• collection of best practices, certifications, assessments, studies or benchmarks
• building strategies or policies for the organisation/business
• other activities contributing to the recovery of the music ecosystem

Who?

• In order to be eligible, proposals must be presented by a single applicant meeting the following criteria:
  be a public or private organisation with legal personality, e.g. not-for-profit organisations; public authorities (national, regional, local); international organisations; profit-making entities
  be established in one of the 27 EU member states or non-EU countries participating in the Creative Europe programme

Funding

MusicAIRE offers three grant sizes:

• micro: 15.000 EUR
• small: 30.000 EUR
• medium: 55.000 EUR

The grant can cover up to 90% of the eligible costs and a max. grant amount depending on the strand applied to. The projects can have a duration of up to 10 months.
It is expected, that around 18 projects will be funded.

European dimension

While the projects selected in the frame of MusicAIRE are of a mono-beneficiary nature, projects are expected to be collaborative and to have an EU added value, i.e. the project activities should be exemplary, innovative, experimental and/or scalable to comparable actions/projects in other European countries and/or on another level (local, national or another area of the music sector).
