Creative Europe at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2026

Frankfurter Buchmesse 2026 is just around the corner, and we’re delighted that Creative Europe will be taking part once again! In cooperation with the executive agency EACEA, the European Commission (DG EAC), and fellow colleagues from the European Creative Europe Desks in Belgium, France, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Czechia, we will be offering information, advice, and inspiration on European funding for the book and publishing sector. You can find us in Hall 3.1, D53.
Programme during the trade visitor days
During the trade visitor days (Wednesday to Friday midday), you can meet representatives of EACEA and the Creative Europe Desks at our stand, ask your questions about the programme and its funding opportunities, and get advice on project ideas.
Focus sessions:
On Wednesday and Thursday, two focus sessions on “Getting to know Creative Europe CULTURE” will take place each day (no registration required). We will start with a brief introduction to Creative Europe CULTURE and its funding opportunities, followed by a Q&A session:
– Focus session (in German), Wed & Thu: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
– Focus session (in English), Wed & Thu: 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Info session on the EU funding line for Literary Translation Projects 2027 (in English)
Colleagues from EACEA will provide information on the call “Circulation of European Literary Works 2027,” in which publishers can apply for co-financing for the translation, printing, publication, and distribution of European works.

Panel: Good stories need money. How three publishers use EU funding for children’s books, young adult fiction, and comics (in German)
Three German publishers will talk about their EU projects funded by Creative Europe.
Panel discussion with Lisa Hammerl (Limbion Verlag), Lukas Jantzen (Reprodukt Verlag), André Zeugner (Kraus Verlag), and Sophia Hodge (Creative Europe Desk KULTUR).
Moderated by Birgit Fricke of Frankfurter Buchmesse GmbH.

Panel: Czech translation projects in Creative Europe (in English)
What role does Creative Europe funding play for the Czech book and publishing sector, and what kinds of projects have been supported? Discover the projects and meet the people behind them. EACEA and Czech grant recipients will engage in dialogue.

Programme on Friday afternoon and over the weekend
From Friday afternoon through Sunday evening, interactive formats centered on the European Union will be offered, including the online game “Fabulous Council,” supported by the Representation of the European Commission, the Liaison Office of the European Parliament, and the regional Europe Direct centers.
